While many may know him by the films he’s directed, few know that he has had a distinct oeuvre as a writer. Here are five films written by Anurag Kashyap that you may not have known about, and where you can stream them.

1. Satya (1998)

Satya is a crime drama film that follows the story of an immigrant named Satya (J. D. Chakravarthy) who enters the Mumbai underworld. Anurag Kashyap co-wrote the script with Saurabh Shukla. The film was directed by Ram Gopal Varma.

Kaun is a psychological horror-thriller film. It’s centered around a woman who is home alone when a stranger knocks at her door. The film was directed by Ram Gopal Varma and was co-written by Anurag Kashyap and Saurabh Shukla.

3. Shool (1999)

Shool is a crime drama film that follows the story of a police officer named Samar Pratap Singh, played by Manoj Bajpayee, who tries to fight corruption within the police force. Anurag Kashyap co-wrote the script along with Ram Gopal Varma, who directed the film.
