King of Kotha ( Malayalam)

When: August 24

Dulquer Salmaan’s action entertainer, originally shot in Malayalam features Aishwarya Lekshmi, Gokul Suresh, Prassana and Chemban Vinod Jose. Spanning two generations, the film follows a henchman, who raised up the ranks to become the unofficial king of an entire crime syndicate. It is directed by debutant Abhilash Joshy. 

Ramachandra Boss & Co (Hindi)

When: August 25

This hiest thriller revolves around a high-stakes robbery happening in the UAE. Directed by Haneef Adeni, the film stars Nivin Pauly, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, and Ganapathi.

Dream Girl 2 (Hindi)

When: August 25

What happens when a youngster, who is trying to pay off his father's never-ending debt, starts to impersonate a girl at his work at an all-night sex helpline? The film deals with the aftermath of the chaos the hero has set open in the first part and how he balances his romantic life with his hidden identity. The sequel to the superhit 2019 comedy stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Ananya Pandey, Abhishek Banerjee, Annu Kapoor and Paresh Rawal and is directed by Raaj Shaandaliya.

Akeli (Hindi)

When: August 25 

This film deals with the plights of an ordinary Indian woman trapped in Iraq during the 2014 insurgencies by the Islamic State. The film directed by Pranay Mesheram, stars Nushrratt Bharuccha, Amir Boutrous and Rajesh Jais.

RDX (Malayalam)

When: August 25

RDX stands for Robert, Doney and Xavier is a period-action saga revolving around three brothers, who have a reputation for being troublemakers wherever they go. The film is narrated in two timelines, one set in the late 80s and the other in the early 2000s. Directed by debutant Nahas Hidayath, the film stars Shane Nigam, Anthony Varghese and Neeraj Madhav.

Gran Turismo (English)

When: August 25

When a player wins a series of Nissan Sponsored video game competitions, he becomes a real-life professional race car driver. Directed by Neil Blomkamp of Demonic ( 2021) fame, the film stars David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, Archie Madekwe and Darren Barnet. 

Toby (Kannada)

When: August 25

Toby is a high-octane action film featuring Raj B Shetty in the titular role, who also serves as the writer. The film is based on a story by TK Dayanand and is about a beast-like man, who has to redeem himself through a journey of self-discovery to unite with his love. Directed by debutant Basil Alchalakkal, the film also features Samyukta Hornad, Rajdeep Shetty and Chaitra Achar.

Harkara (Tamil)

When: August 25

A frustrated postman tries to fool the people to leave the village because he dislikes his job. But he ends up coming across a fable about ‘Harkara’ that changes his perspective. The film is directed by Ram Arun Castro and stars Kaali Venkat, Ram Arun Castro and Pichaikkaran Moorthy in the cast.

Love All (Hindi)

When: August 25

Love All is a sports drama revolving around an over-ambitious father and his son, who is yet to find his true potential, as the two connect through their love for the game of Badminton and honour. Directed by Sudhanshu Sharma, the film stars Kay Kay Menon, Swastika Mukherjee and Sumit Arora in the lead. 

Gandeevadhari Arjuna (Telugu)

When: August 25

Varun Tej plays a spy who is on a mission to protect the life of a climate change activist in this cat-and-mouse thriller. Directed by  Praveen Sattaru of PSV Garuda Vega (2017) fame, The film co-stars Sakshi Vaidya, Nassar, Vimala Raman, Vinay Rai and Narain in the cast. 

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (English)

When: August 25 

This iteration of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja feature film is the seventh entry in the franchise. This time around, the little turtle brothers find them under the tutelage of Splinter and uncover bigger trouble and conspiracies surrounding their protected lives.  Directed by Jeff Rowe and co-written and executive produced by Seth Rogan, this film is a blasting ride down memory lane for all the fans of the iconic cartoon characters and features Jackie Chan and Micah Abbey.

Asteroid City (English)

When: August 25 

Wes Anderson is back to the big screens in India and how! The director with one of the most dedicated online fan communities is back with his tale of a get-together of a lonely set of people, who are forced to spend time with each other due to a UFO sighting in 1950s Americana. The film features Scarlett Johansson, Jason Schwartzman, Tom Hanks, and Bryan Cranston.

Bayaluseeme (Kannada)

The political drama revolves around the world of crime and rural traditions as gangs fight for power. Directed y Varun Kattimani, the film features Varun Kattimani, TS Nagabharana and Ravi Shankar P. 

Mastaney (Punjabi)

When: August 25

This historic drama set in 1739 deals with the events surrounding the attempts of Nadar Shah to fight against a rebellious group of Sikh soldiers in an attempt to topple the regime. But what if these main sikh rebellion members are not who they claim to be? This film stars Tarseem Jasar, Simi Chahal and Gurpreet Ghuggi and is directed by Sharan Art.

Bedurulanka 2012 (Telugu)

When: August 25

This apocalyptic farce is about a village misled by the religious sect that the world is going to end. But will a single man be able to expose the wrongdoings of the village heads? Directed by Clax, the film stars Kartikeya, Neha Sshetty, Ajay Ghosh, Satya and Raj Kumar Kasireddy.

Retribution (English)

When: August 25 

Liam Nesson’s Retribution, which is a chamber-piece thriller, revolves around a bank executive, who is stuck in his car with his two kids and is informed about a deadly bomb hidden in the car. The film also stars Matthew Modine, Embeth Davidtz and Jake Champion and is directed by Nimród Antal.

Panch Kriti Five Elements (Hindi)

When: August 25

Panch Kriti Five Elements is a film of five captivating and interconnected stories set in the charming town of Chanderi. Directed by Sannjoy Bhargv, the film stars Brijendra Kala, Sarika Bahroliya and Sagar Wahi.

Goldfish (English)

When: August 25

This coming-of-age story deals with a daughter who returns home to take care of her mother who is recouping from dementia and fractured memory. The film stars Deepti Naval, Kalki Koechlin and Rajit Kapur and is directed by Pushan Kripalani.

Kaddha Chithra (Kannada)

When: August 25

An accomplished novelist looking for his next big break publishes a novel revolving around a girl's life but is accused of plagiarism. The writer then embarks on a journey to find the truth behind the accusations and the girl's real story. This is the basic premise of the thriller film starring Vijay Raghavendra, Namratha Surendranath and Balaji Manohar. The film is directed by Subash Krishna.
