Vijay’s GOAT gets a release date (Tamil)

Thalapathy Vijay's next film GOAT a.k.a Greatest of All Time is all set to release on September 5th. The makers released a poster along with the announcement which sees the star in an older look overlooking the skyline of a city. The poster also shows a bomb blast in the middle of the city, hinting at the plot that involves Vijay as an Air Force pilot. 

GOAT is written and directed by Venkat Prabhu and is backed by Archana Kalpathi and Kalpathi S Aghoram under the AGS Entertainment banner. The film also stars Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jairam, Mohan, and others. Yuvan Shankar Raja provides the music while Siddhartha Nuni handles the cinematography.

Pradeep Ranganathan teams up with Ashwin Marimuthu (Tamil)

Love Today’s Pradeep Ranganathan has added another film to his slate of upcoming movies as an actor. While he is starring in Vignesh Sivan’s LIC, the actor recently announced that he would be collaborating with filmmaker Ashwin Marimuthu in a new film, which would be backed by AGS Entertainment. The announcement came with a promo video that sees Pradeep in a college setting. While the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be announced, the film will reportedly have Niketh Bommi handling the cinematography and Leon James composing the music.

Sivakarthikeyan’s Production House Announces A New Film (Tamil)

Actor Sivakarthikeyan will be next seen in the film Amaran, which is set to be an action-heavy military drama. His production house, however, seems to have gone on the opposite route and has announced a sweet village comedy. Titled Kurangu Pedal, the film is directed by Kamalakannan Subramanian and stars Kaali Venkat. The teaser that accompanied the announcement shows the story of four kids who want to learn how to ride a cycle. 

The film was screened under the Indian Panorama section at the International Film Festival of India. Ghibran Vaibodha handles the music while Sumee Bhaskaran handles the cinematography.

Dulquer Salman’s Lucky Baskhar gets a teaser (Telugu)

Dulquer Salman’s next Telugu film after the sensational Sita Ramam will be the heist comedy, Lucky Baskhar. The makers of the film recently released the first teaser of the film which sees Salman as a banker in ‘80s Bombay, who comes in possession of a lot of money. The film is directed by Venky Atluri, who previously helmed Dhanush’s Sir.

Lucky Baskhar is produced by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya under the Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas banner. The film also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary and has music by GV Prakash Kumar. Nimish Ravi handles the cinematography. The film is set to release in July 2024.

Gopichand's new film with Srinu Vaitla gets a title (Telugu)

Actor Gopichand is all set to collaborate with filmmaker Srinu Vaitla in an action entertainer. The makers of the recently announced the title of the film. Titled Viswam, the announcement came with a teaser that shows Gopichand attacking a wedding in the North and shooting the attendees. The teaser ends with a dialogue by the actor.

Viswam is written and directed by Srinu Vaitla and is backed by TG Vishwa Prasad and Venu Donepudi under the People Media Factory and Chritralayam Studios banners. Kavya Thapar stars in a prominent role in the film. Chaitanya Bharadwaj handles the music while KV Guhan cranks the camera.

Ravi Teja Announces His 75th Film (Telugu)

Actor Ravi Teja, who was last seen in Eagle, recently announced his next film with filmmaker Bhanu Bogavarapu. The upcoming film will be the star's 75th film and hence has been tentatively titled RT75. It will be bankrolled by Sithara Entertainments. Bhanu Bogavarapu will be making his directorial debut in the film and has previously worked as a writer on Vivahabhojanambu and Samajavaragamana. RT 75 is reportedly aiming for a Sankranthi 2025 release. Bheem Cecirolio handles the music while Karthik Gattamneni handles the cinematography.

Mahesh Manjrekar Joins Darshan’s Devil (Kannada)

Marathi actor and filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar has reportedly joined the cast of actor Darshan’s next film Devil. The action entertainer went on floors recently. Manjrekar has previously acted in the 2005 Kannada film Encounter Dayanayak. The film is set to be directed by Prakash Veer.

Vijay Kumar headlines Jadeshaa K Hampi's VK 29 ( Kannada)

Actor Vijay Kumar is all set to star in his 29th film with filmmaker Jaadeshaa K Hampi. The filmmaker previously wrote last year’s blockbuster Kaatera and has also helmed Guru Shishyaru. The upcoming film, tentatively titled VK29 will see Rachita Ram star opposite Vijay. The actor’s daughter Ritanya is also set to make her film debut, with Daredevil Mustafa’s Shishir Balkady also in a supporting role. KV Satya Prakash is set to produce the film.

Yash to join as a co-producer for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana (Kannada)

Actor Yash has reportedly joined Namit Malhotra as a co-producer on the magnum opus Ramayana. The film, which reportedly stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, will see Yash’s Monster Mind Creations join hands with Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios to bankroll the historical epic. Yash will also reportedly be essaying the role of Ravana in the film.

Yash will also be seen in Geetu Mohandas’ Toxic, which will see him return to the big screen after KGF: Chapter 2. The film is reportedly a crime drama and has the tagline: ‘A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups’. Yash is also co-producing the film along with KVN Productions.

Shane Nigam's next gets a title (Malayalam)

Shane Nigam will be next seen in the romance Haal. The film, which is directed by Prasanth Vijaykumar from a script by Nishad Koya, will reportedly go on floors soon in Kozhikode. It is bankrolled by JVJ Productions and will have Karthik Muttukumar as the cinematographer and Nandu as the music director.

Tovino Thomas produces Basil Joseph's next film (Malayalam)

The Minnal Murali is back! Well, sort of. Tovino Thomas is all set to bankroll the film Marana Mass, which reportedly stars Basil Joseph in the lead role. The two had previously collaborated on the acclaimed superhero film Minnal Murali, in which Tovino acted as the lead while Basil Joseph directed. Sivaprasad will be reportedly making his directorial debut with the film.

Marana Mass is backed by Tovino Thomas Productions along with World Wide Films. The film also stars Rajesh Madhavan, Suresh Krishna, and Siju Sunny. It has music by Jay Unnithan and cinematography by Neeraj Revi.
