Captain Miller’s First Look and Teaser release plans revealed (Tamil)

Celebrating actor Dhanush’s 15 years in the industry, the makers of his next film Captain Miller gave an update on the film. The first look poster of the period action film will be released in June while its teaser will premiere in July.

Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the film also stars Shivarajkumar, Priyanka Mohan, Sundeep Kishan, Niveditha Satheesh and John Kokken. Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films and presented by TG Thyagaraju, the technical crew of the film consists of GV Prakash Kumar as the music director, Sidharth Nuni as the cinematographer and Naagooran as the editor.

Diganth joins Pramod Shetty’s Laughing Buddha (Kannada)

The makers of Bharat Raj’s comedy Laughing Buddha have announced that actor Diganth has joined the cast of the film in a pivotal role. Starring Pramod Shetty as a police constable and Teju Belawadi as his wife, the film will see Diganth as a con artist.

Produced by Rishab ShettyLaughing Buddha is directed by Bharat Raj, who previously helmed Hero, which starred both Rishab and Pramod Shetty. The film will also feature Sundar Raj and Malayalam actor Vishnu Vijay, who will be making his Kannada cinema debut. 

Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh gets a glimpse video (Telugu)

The makers of the Pawan Kalyan's Ustaad Bhagat Singh unveiled a glimpse of the action entertainer. The teaser introduces Kalyan as the titular character who is a police officer. While no plot details are revealed, the film is believed to be a remake of Atlee'sTheri and the glimpse promises to be a perfect action film with an emotional core.

Ustaad Bhagat Singh is directed by Harish Shankar S, who previously collaborated with Pawan Kalyan in Gabbar Singh. The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers while Devi Sri Prasad scores the music. The film Sreeleela, Ashutosh Rana, Gauthami and Naga Mahesh.

Prithiviraj-Basil Joseph's Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil goes on floors (Malayalam)

Prithviraj Sukumuran and Basil Joseph are all set share screenspace in director Vipin Das’ film Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil. The director known for the successful comedy Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey is collaborating with Prithviraj for the first time. The actor is also producing the film under his Prithviraj Productions banner along with E4 Entertainment. The film, which recently went on floors, is said to be a fun entertainer and also stars prominent Tamil actor Yogi Babu, who is making his debut in Malayalam cinema.

GV Prakash Kumar composes music for PVT04; Sreeleela's first look unveiled (Telugu)

The makers of PVT04, starring Panja Vaisshnav Tej and Sreeleela have officially welcomed music composer GV Prakash Kumar onboard the project. The film is backed by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and S Sai Soujanya under the Sithara Entertainment banner and is directed by Srikanth N Reddy. The film also stars Aparna Das and Joju George, who are making their debut in Telugu cinema.

Mammootty’s Bazooka officially launched (Malayalam)

Mammootty's next, Bazooka, entered production last week followed by a formal puja ceremony. Directed by Deeno Dennis, in his directorial debut, the film also stars Gautam Vasudev Menon and Shine Tom Chacko. The film is produced by Dolwin Kuriakose, Jinu V Abraham, Vikram Mehra, Sidharth, and Anand Kumar under the banners of Theatre of Dreams and Yoodlee Films. Midhun Mukundan provides the music while Nimish Ravi handles the camera.

Daredevil Mustafa gets a trailer and a release date (Kannada)

The makers of the comedy-drama Daredevil Mustafa recently announced the release date of the film along with the trailer. The film adaptation of writer Poornachandra Tejasvi’s short story will be released in theatres on May 19. Directed by Shashank Soghal and stars Shishir Baikady, Aditya Ashree, Abhay, Supreeth Bharadwaj, Aashith, Srivatsa and Prerana.

Presented by Dhananjaya and distributed by Karthik Gowda and Yogi G Raj under the K3G banner, the film has the unique distinction of being crowdfunded by the fans of the legendary author. Daredevil Mustafa will have music by Navaneeth Shyam and cinematography by Rahul Roy.

'Naamoru Pole' video song from Khajuraho Dreams unveiled (Malayalam)

The makers of the upcoming road film Khajuraho Dreams released the video song 'Naamoru Pole' from the film earlier this week. Composed by Gopi Sunder and crooned by Vineeth Sreenivasan and Muhammad Maqbool, the song is penned by BK Harinarayanan. Featuring Arjun Asokan, Sreenath Bhasi, and Sharafudheen in the lead roles, the film is directed by debutant Manoj Vasudev and is produced by Good Line Productions.

Makers of VD12 release a new poster (Telugu)

Vijay Deverakonda is all set to collaborate with director Gautham Tinnanuri of Jersey fame on a new film. Tentatively titled VD12, the makers of the film released a poster for the film on the occasion of Vijay Devarakonda’s birthday.

Backed by Sithara Entertainment and Fortune Four Cinemas, the film features Anirudh Ravichander as the music director, Girish Gangadharan as the cinematographer, and Naveen Nooli as the editor. Sreeleela stars as the female lead in the film.

Arjun Rampal joins the cast of NBK 108 (Telugu)

Prominent Hindi film actor Arjun Rampal, known for his roles in Om Shanthi Om and Rock On! is all set to make his Telugu debut with Nandamuri Balakrishna’s next film. Tentatively titled NBK108, the film is directed by Anil Ravipudi.

Produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi under Shine Screens Media, the film also stars Kajal Agarwal and Sreeleela. The technical crew of the film consists of Thaman S as the music director, C Ram Prasad as the cinematographer and Tammiraju as the editor.

Rudhran gets OTT release date (Tamil)

Raghava Lawrence’s action entertainer Rudhran is all set to stream on Sun NXT from May 14th. The Kathiresan directorial was released in cinemas a month before on April 14 to mixed reviews. The OTT platform announced the news on their social media handles.

Produced by Five Star Creations LLP, the film also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, R Sarathkumar, Poornima Bhagyaraj and Nasser. The technical crew of the film includes GV Prakash Kumar on music, RD Rajasekar on camera and editor Anthony.

Filming of Suresh Gopi-Biju Menon starrer Garudan begins (Malayalam)

The makers of the crime thriller Garudan have announced that the film has been officially launched and that the shooting has commenced. Directed by Arun Varma in his directorial debut, the film sees actors Suresh Gopi and Biju Menon reunite on screen after a long gap. The crime thriller is scripted by Midhun Thomas from a story by Jinesh M. Ajay David Kachappilly serves as the cinematographer while Jakes Bejoy provides the music.

Meera Jasmine joins the cast of Test (Tamil)

Actor Meera Jasmine is making a comeback to Tamil cinema with producer Sashikanth’s directorial debut Test. The film stars R Madhavan, Siddharth and Nayanthara in lead roles. Her last appearance in Tamil cinema was nine years ago in Vingyani.

Touted to be a sports drama, the film is produced by Sashikanth himself under his Y Not Studios banner. The technical crew sees singer Shakthishree Gopalan making her debut as the music director, Viraj Sinh Gohil as the cinematographer and Dhilip Subbarayan as the stunt coordinator. The makers are hoping for a release in the summer of 2024.

Naveen Shankar and Janardhan Chikkanna set to reunite (Kannada)

The successful duo Naveen Shankar and Janardhan Chikkanna are set to reunite for a project. While the discussions are still ongoing, actor Naveen has indicated that they will be joining again after they complete their present commitments. He has revealed that they would be exploring a new genre and want to work on a fresh idea.

The duo which made a mark in the industry with Gultoo has been busy with other projects. Director Janardhan Chikkanna is awaiting the release of Agnyatavasi, which stars Rangayana Raghu. Actor Naveen Shankar has been quite busy in the past year with films like Hondisi Bareyari and Dharani Mandala Madhyadolage seeing successful runs in both theatres and OTT. He was also seen as the antagonist in Dhananjaya’s Hoysala.

Arulnithi’s Kazhuvethi Moorkan gets a release date (Tamil)

The makers of the Arulnithi-starrer Kazhuvethi Moorkan recently announced that the film will be released in theatres on May 26. Directed by SY Gowthamaraj, the rural action entertainer also stars Dushara Vijayan, Santhosh Pratap, Munishkanth, Sharath Lohitashwa and Yaar Kannan. It has music by D Imman and cinematography by Sridhar.
