First look of Nagarjuna in Dhanush's Kubera out (Telugu)

Filming for Dhanush and Sekhar Kammula’s collaboration Kubera has been in full swing. The makers of the film recently released the first-look teaser for Nagarjuna, who plays a pivotal role in the film. The teaser shows the legendary actor standing in the rain in front of a truck that has loads of money covered in plastic wrapping. He sees a ₹500 note fallen on the ground, wet from the rain. He takes out another note from his wallet and places it in the truck.

Kubera is directed by Sekhar Kammula, who wrote the film along with Chaithanya Pingali. The film is backed by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under the Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd. banners. It also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Jim Sarbh. Devi Sri Prasad handles the music for the film while Niketh Bommi cranks the camera.

Pawan Kalyan's Hari Hara Veera Mallu gets a teaser (Telugu)

Actor Pawan Kalyan’s long-delayed historical epic Hari Hara Veera Mallu received an update. The makers of the film released a teaser, which shows Kalyan as a thief who ends up being the saviour of the people who are under the oppressive Mughal regime. The teaser also revealed that the film would be released in two parts, with the first part titled Sword vs Spirit.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu is helmed by Krish Jagarlamudiand AM Jyothi Krishna. The film is backed by AM Rathnam and A Dayakar Rao under the Mega Surya production banner. The film has Gnanasekar VS and Manoj Paramahamsa as the cinematographers while Oscar-award winner MM Keeravani handles the music. It also stars Nidhi Agerwal, Bobby Deol, Nargis Fakhri, and Nora Fatehi.

Allu Arjun lets loose in the first single of Pushpa 2: The Rule (Telugu)

The makers of the upcoming action film Pushpa 2: The Rule have released the first single. Titled ‘Pushpa Pushpa’, the song sees lead actor Allu Arjun shake his legs to the massy beats of Devi Sri Prasad. The lyrics are by Chandrabose while Nakash Aziz and Deepak Blue provide the vocals. The song was accompanied by a lyrical video, which also featured some visuals from the music video.

Pushpa 2: The Rule is written and directed by Sukumar. The film is backed by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. Miroslaw Kuba Brozek handles the cinematography while Devi Sri Prasad composes the music.The film also stars Fahad Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, Dhananjaya, and Sunil. The film will be released on August 15.

Puneeth Rajkumar's Anjani Putra gets a re-release (Kannada) 

Late actor Puneeth Rajkumar’s legacy has been kept alive through the re-releases of his films. While earlier this year, his 2010 film Jackie was released to much fanfare, another hit of his is said to be re-released in cinemas soon. The action entertainer Anjani Putra is all set to hit the cinemas on May 10.

Anjani Putra is a 2017 film directed by A Harsha and produced by MN Kumar. The film also starred Rashmika Mandanna in her sophomore role after Kirik Party. The cast includes Ramya Krishna, Mukesh Tiwari, Sadhu Kokila, and Ravi Shankar. The film has music by Ravi Basrur.

Kunchacko Boban's Grrr to release on June 14 (Malayalam)

Grrr, directed by Jay K of Ezra (2017) fame, is slated to hit the screens on June 14. Sharing the release date announcement, the makers recently released the film's teaser. The film stars Kunchacko Boban and Suraj Venjaramoodu, and the former plays a man who jumps into the den of a lion named Darshan at the Trivandrum zoo. The comedy entertainer is produced by Shaji Nadesan and Arya under the banner of August Cinemas, with co-production by Cineholix.

Sindhu Sreenivas Murthy stars in the upcoming dark comedy Family Drama (Kannada) 

After the success of her debut directorial Aachar & Co., actress and filmmaker Sindhu Sreenivasa Murthy will be next seen in the dark comedy Family Drama. The makers of the film released the trailer which sees Sindhu as a member of a dysfunctional family who gets into a life of crime due to circumstances.

Family Drama is written and directed by Akarsh HP and is backed by Dabbugudi Murali Krishna under the Cheese Popcorn Entertainments banner. The film also stars Abhay, Poornachandra Mysore, Ananya Amar, Rekha Kudlagi, and Aashith in pivotal roles. The film has Siddharth Sunil as the DOP and Chethan Ammiah as the music director.

KRG Studio's next to feature Dheeren Rajkumar (Kannada)

Dheeren R Rajkumar, who made his debut with the film Shiva 143, will be relaunched with a new film produced by KRG Studios. The makers announced that the film would go on floors soon and would serve as a ‘re-introduction’ to Dheeren, who is the grandson of Dr. Rajkumar and the son of Ramkumar and Poornima Rajkumar. The announcement was made on his birthday. The film will be produced by Karthik Gowda and Yogi G Raj.

Khalid Rahman's next film announced with Naslen Gafoor (Malayalam)

After starring in the sensational Manjummel Boys, actor and filmmaker Khalid Rahman will be returning as a director. The yet-to-be-titled film will see the Thallumaala filmmaker collaborate with Naslen Gafoor, who recently struck gold with the romantic comedy Premalu. The upcoming film is also set to star Lukman Avaran, Ganpathu, Anagha Ravi, Sandeep Pradeep, and more.

The upcoming film is produced by Khalid Rahman along with Jobin George, Sameer Karat, and Subeesh Kannanchery under the Plan B Motion Pictures, Central Pictures, and Truth Global Films banners. Rahman also writes the film, with dialogues by Rathish Ravi. Jimshi Khalid handles the camera while Vishnu Vijay composes the music.

Mammootty's Turbo gets a new release date (Malayalam)

Actor Mammootty’s next film after the successful Bramayugam, Kathal - The Core and Kannur Squad will be the action entertainer Turbo. The makers announced that the film’s release will be pre-poned from June 13 to May 23. The action film sees Mammootty collaborate with director Vysakh for the third time after Pokkiri Raja and Madhura Raja.

Turbo is directed by Vysakh and written by Midhun Manuel Thomas. It is backed by Mammootty’s production house Mammootty Kampany and will be distributed by Dulquer Salman’s Wayfarer Films. The film has music by Justin Varghese.

Fahadh Faasil's next goes on floors (Malayalam) 

After the resounding success of Aavesham, Fahad Faasil is already back in work mode with his next Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira. The romantic comedy was launched recently and will be directed by Altaf Salim of Njandakalude Nattil Oridavela fame. The film will be his sophomore effort. Ashiq Usman backs the film under the Ashiq Usman Productions banner.

Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira is directed by Altaf Salim. It also stars Kalyani Priyadarshan, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Lal, Vinay Forrt, Suresh Krishna, Revathi Pillai, and more. Jinto George handles the cinematography while Justin Varghese composes the music.

Vasanthabalan's Thalaimai Seyalagam gets a teaser (Tamil) 

Actor Bharath and Kishore are all set to headline a political series called Thalaimai Seyalagam. The first look poster and teaser of the Zee5 show was released by actress Trisha Krishnan. The show also sees Ramya Nambeesan in a pivotal role.

Thalamai Seyalagam is directed by G. Vasanthabalan of Kaaviya Thalaivan fame. The Zee5 original is backed by R Sarathkumar and Radhika Sarathkumar under the Radhika Mediaworks India Ltd. banner. The series has music by Ghibran, with an additional score by Simon K King. Ravishankar handles the cinematography. The show is set to premiere on Zee5 on May 17.

AR Rahman and Prabhu Deva to collaborate on a new project (Tamil)

After over 25 years, actor Prabhu Deva and music composer AR Rahman will be collaborating on a project. Tentatively titled ARRPD6, the makers announced that collaboration with fanfare. The film is reportedly directed by Manoj NS, the CEO of Behindwoods, who also co-produces and writes the film.

ARRPD6 sees Rahman and Deva collaborate after Minsara Kanavu. The film is set to be a dance musical with an ensemble cast of Yogi Babu, Aju Varghese, Satz, Arjun Ashokan, Nishma Chengappa, Redin Kingsley, Deepa Shankar, and Ramkumar Natarajan. Anup V Shylaja handles the cinematography. Manoj NS produces the film along with Divya Manoj and Praveen Elak.

Kavin to headline Nelson’s debut production venture (Tamil)

After the success of Jailer, director Nelson Dilipkumar has announced his next venture. While the filmmaker is yet to announce his next directorial, he has reportedly started a production venture, with his debut film to be the Kavin starrer Bloody Beggar. The team released a promo video which was made in the style of Nelson’s usual song release promos.

Bloody Beggar is written and directed by Sivabalan Muthukumar and is backed by Nelson under the Filament Pictures banner. The film also stars Redin Kingsley. Kavin will reportedly be seen in a new look as a beggar in the film. Jen Martin composes the music while Sijith Sarang handles the cinematography.
