Hemant Kumar's brief stint as producer in Hindi began with this loose adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle's Hound of Baskervilles. Not surprisingly, the man handled the composing duties himself, and created one of the eeriest horror movie tracks ever – Kahin Deep Chale Kahin Dil, sung by Lata Mangeshkar – one that won both Lata and lyricist Shakeel Badayuni the Filmfare that year. The soundtrack had four more well-made songs spanning across moods and genres.

Best Song of Bees Saal Baad: My favourite from the album is one sung by Hemant Kumar himself. The playful Beqarar Karke Humein starts with a comparatively rushed prelude that belies the easy, comforting rhythm the song is set in. While the song makes fabulous use of Enoch Daniels' accordion throughout, the other high point in the composer's arrangement is the haunting first interlude.
