The 1990 super hit was a landmark album both for Nadeem-Shravan and Kumar Sanu – the composer duo and the singer went on to dominate the Bollywood scene for a few years following Aashiqui's success. In fact even for Anuradha Paudwal (who was the only female voice throughout the album), even though she had had some success in playback prior to 1990, the movie was majorly significant in that it kick-started an association with the label T-Series that would become her mainstay for a large part of her subsequent career.

Best Song Of Aashiqui: With its waltz-based rhythm and the general melancholy (especially that accordion in the first interlude), Main Duniya Bhula Doonga at times reminds me of Jeena Yahaan Marna Yahaan from Mera Naam Joker. It is nevertheless my favourite song of the soundtrack.
