The 1963 adaptation of the Persian legend – Rustam Sohrab, is famous for being the final movie that singer/actress Suraiya was involved in. The lady chose to retire from films after Rustam Sohrab. The movie also turned out to be the last notable work by composer Sajjad Hussain – a man who had a surprisingly small portfolio for someone who had been active in the industry for over three decades and had produced some remarkable songs during his time. In Rustam Sohrab, given the movie's backdrop, Hussain produced a soundtrack with prominent Middle Eastern flavour, delivered by some of the top singers of the industry.

Best Song of Rustam Sohrab: Despite the other big names at his disposal, Hussain gave the best song of the soundtrack – Yeh Kaisi Ajab Daastaan Ho Gayi Hai – to the leading lady Suraiya, making it her last film song, and she handled it beautifully.
