#96 Dangal: Top 100 Bollywood Albums

Arguably one of India's biggest blockbusters, Dangal also had a superb soundtrack by Pritam. The Aamir Khan-starrer had some powerful songs like Dhaakad and Haanikarak Bapu

Movie Details of Dangal

Music: Pritam

Lyrics: Amitabh Bhattacharya

Label: Zee Music

Director: Nitesh Tiwari

The 2016 sports drama, Dangal, set in the rural heartland of Haryana saw Pritam eschew his usual composing style (for most part) and produce a cracker of a soundtrack that masterfully brought together rustic and contemporary elements. Of course, the composer had a lot of help coming from lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya – the two have developed quite a solid partnership in recent times – who was in incredible form here with his Haryanvi-infused lines.

Best Song of Dangal: Haanikaarak Bapu, hands down. With Bhattacharya's hilarious analogies delivered to a tee by two young scions of the unending talent pool that is the Manganiyar community, there couldn't have been a better song expressing the kids' outrage towards their father's ruthlessness.
