On composer Anirudh Ravichander's birthday, the big announcement that everyone was expecting was the official release of a single titled 'Quit Pannuda' from Vijay's Master. The lyrical video, which will drop at 6 pm today, will be added on to an already-successful album with hit songs such as 'Vaathi Coming' and 'Kutti Story'. The makers of the film, whose release was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, also used this chance to reveal a poster from the film, featuring its star Vijay.

But what really took everyone by surprise was the news of actor Dhanush announcing a film with a working title called D44. It will see the actor get back together with the 'Why This Kolaveri Di?' composer after a break of five years. They had last worked together in 2015's Thanga Magan and in Vijay SethupathiNayanthara starrer Naanum Rowdy Thaan, which was Dhanush's home production.

In this period that followed, even sequels of hit Dhanush-Anirudh projects such as VIP and Maari saw the actor work with other composers such as Sean Rolden (VIP2) and Yuvan Shankar Raja (Maari 2). D and A teaming up again marks the reunion of one of Tamil cinema's most-loved actor-composer duos. Their super successful combination began with Anirudh's first film 3, back in 2012.

In a short video announcing the project, we see Dhanush and Anirudh jamming on the terrace, with a sly jibe on the expectations weighing in on the composer's shoulder, given the number of joint hits they've had. As he plays the harmonium, we also see Dhanush sitting near him, casually snacking on chips, diverting the pressure. The video ends with the theme music of VIP playing in the background. Incidentally, that is also the lead music for Dhanush's production house Wunderbar Films.

Said to be directed by Mithran Jawahar (Yaaradi Nee Mohini), D44 will be produced by Sun Pictures, which had also bankrolled Petta, for which Anirudh composed the music. D44 is expected to be Dhanush's next following the yet-unreleased Jagame Thanthiram directed by Karthik Subbaraj. He has also shot for Mari Sevlaraj's Karnan, apart from Anand L Rai's Hindi film Atrangi Re, which also stars Akshay Kumar.

For fans who describe this combo's music as a part of their DNA, this DnA reunion is something that a lot of people will be looking forward to next year.
