Hot Take: On cloud 5687347 with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The actor chooses poofy Ashi Studio couture for her latest outing.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan steps out for the premiere of the film 'La Belle Epoque', wearing a tulle cloud from Ashi Studio. All credit to the actor for pulling it off, and gliding effortlessly even though the dress was made up of several different parts – the frilly corset, the trousers, and feathery boa.
The look was inspired from a similar couture piece made by Ashi Studio in Fall 2018. Quite frankly the original packs enough punch, and the newly added feathers were a tad much. The frosty make-up (a shade too light?) and gold nails (carried over from the previous look) didn't look particularly fresh either.

Hot Take: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's tinfoil dress kept her from truly shining at Cannes.
Jean-Louis Sabaji outfitted the actor in a snakeskin-effect, holographic dress. The fabric bunched up awkwardly around her shoulders, bulking up her frame. The train alone, no matter how artful, wasn't going to save this dress.
Sabaji is a second generation designer from Lebanon. His father, Jean Sabaji, was to '80s Beirut what Halston was to Studio 54-era New York – a designer who outfitted the who's who.
With his creations, Jean-Louis wants to give "center stage to mythical beasts and celestial beings" which explains how he arrived at this cross of mermaids and serpents. His work has been worn by Beyoncé, Deepika Padukone, Michelle Rodriguez and Natalia Vodianova among others. We're just bummed that stylist Aastha Sharma chose what's possibly his most unflattering work, for one of the world's most beautiful women.
