Reports about Chiranjeevi and Siddu Jonnalagadda teaming up for the remake of the Malayalam comedy, Bro Daddy, have been doing rounds on social media for a while. There also have unconfirmed reports about Trisha and Sree Leela reprising the characters essayed by Meena and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the original. However, reliable sources close to the development state that Sree Leela's involvement in the project is false news and that the Dhamaka actor is not a part of the project.
The film will reportedly be directed by Kalyan Krishna of Soggade Chinni Nayana-fame, with the makers aiming for a Sankranthi 2024 release. However, there has been no official announcement about the project yet. Chiranjeevi will be next seen in Bholaa Shankar, the official remake of the Tamil film Vedhalam (2015), directed by Meher Ramesh, scheduled for a theatrical release on August 11.
Sree Leela, on the other hand, has a handful of projects in her lineup, including the yet-to-be-titled Boyapati Sreenu-Ram Pothineni film, Anil Ravipudi's Bhagavanth Kesari, Trivikram-Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram, Pawan Kalyan's Ustaad Bhagat Singh, directed by Harish Kalyan, and Aadikeshava, co-starring Panja Vaisshnav Tej, to name some.
