In a recent media interview, Shubham Kumar Mehra who was last seen in Taj: Divided By Blood, a streaming series currently available on Zee5 spoke about the second season of the series.

Talking about the season 2, Mehra said, “The new season is a lot darker and grittier. In the first one we have just established the world of TAJ and now that people are invested, we had to take it to the next level. Its darker, its grungier, and wild. If I had to call it different this would be the difference that it’s wilder. Everyone is basically unleashing their wild self.”

The actor who played the role of of Daniyal in the season 1, spoke about his role in the second season, “This is the most challenging thing I ever had to do because I had to become not just a 20–21-year-old Daniyal but also a 34-year-old Daniyal. It was a block shoot; it was not something we were shooting for different timelines but shooting at the same time was challenging. Just wearing a moustache and getting extensions isn't going to change the character, it was internal, there is a lot that goes on in 14 years. I believe people in films don’t talk about it very often but when a character grows you grow so there is a lot that goes into that.”

He further added, “There is an aftermath to everything we do in life and there was one for Daniyal as well. Sometimes people don’t identify that when you do something bad it just doesn’t take a toll on other people, but it also takes a toll on who you are, and what you are and what you become. So that’s how it progresses, and I had to take in such a way that it doesn’t become villain-ish. But it was very challenging because we were shooting on the same day with multiple changes in costume. I am curious to how the audience have taken the perception of it.”

Mehra was also seen in Kill Dil (2014) and Ok Jaanu (2017) starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur.
