The first-look posters of Mari Selvaraj’s Maamannan, which featured Vadivelu with a revolver got the internet talking. While the film is expected to mark his comeback, the latest news is that Vadivelu has sung a song for the film in AR Rahman’s music.
Sharing pictures of Vadivelu and the team, Rahman wrote, “Recorded a song with our Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu. He made us laugh throughout and made our session very memorable!” Vadivelu made his singing debut with ‘Ettanaa Irundha’ (in the film Ellaame En Rasathan, 1995) under ilaiyaraaja's music. He also sang three singles in his last Naai Sekar Returns (2022).
Vadivelu is said to play the role of an MLA in Maamannan which co-stars Udhayanidhi Stalin, Keerthy Suresh and Fahadh Faasil in lead roles. This film is Mari Selvaraj’s third outing after Pariyerum Perumal (2018) and Karnan (2021). Bankrolled by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies, the film has cinematography by Theni Eswar and editing by Selva RK.
