Indie musician Jasleen Royal, who has composed hit songs like Nachne De Saare from Baar Baar Dekho and Din Shagna Da from Phillauri, made her big debut in Bollywood in 2014, with the score for Khoobsurat. The Rani Mukerji-starrer Hichki, however, is her first outing as a solo composer. Ahead of the movie's release, she took Film Companion on a trip down memory lane, listing her top 5 Bollywood albums of all time and what they mean to her.

1. Guide (1965)

Composer: Sachin Dev Burman

It has great songs. I have still not found a better album than that. It's got amazing songs like Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna, and my favourite Wahan Kaun Hai Tera and Kya Se Kya Ho Gaya.

2. Dil Chahta Hai (2001)

Composers: Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy

Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe is one of the iconic songs. It still plays and you still feel great listening to it. The title track, the sad song Tanhayee, every song is amazing.

3. Saathiya (2002)

Composer: A.R. Rahman

It's got amazing lyrics by Gulzar and songs like Chalka Chalka Re, Chupke Se, Meere Yaar Mila De. I remember trying to understand the lyrics to Mera Yaar Mila De because it had some difficult lyrics, but they were amazing meaning-wise. I would discuss it with my grandad and ask him to explain it to me. So it's got some really good memories.

4. Rang De Basanti (2006)

Composer: A.R. Rahman

Amazing title track, amazing love song – Tu Bin Bataayein and Luka Chuppi are my favourite songs. The background score of the film is amazing. I keep playing it on the keyboard.

5. Maachis (1996)

Composer: Vishal Bhardwaj

I remember watching this film in the theatres thrice because my mom is crazy about this film.
