Pawan Kalyan, who hasn't been seen on-screen since Agnyaathavaasi in 2018 will be back this summer in the action drama Vakeel Saab. Although it's a remake of the Hindi courtroom thriller Pink (2016), the teaser for the Telugu movie, which has just been released on YouTube, looks completely different.
It's not wrong for remakes to take alternative routes to reach the destination, but the teaser doesn't even feature the actual women around whom the movie revolves around for more than a second. The posters and stills being circulated on social media elevate the Power Star to the status of a demi-god.
But Pink falls into another category. It's about how women are targeted for standing up for themselves. The movie was remade in Tamil (as Nerkonda Paarvai) with an equally big star Ajith, a year-and-a-half ago. There were flashes of the original and the messaging part at the end didn't stray away from the central point.
Maybe, Vakeel Saab will open up another dimension that we haven't seen in Pink and Nerkonda Paarvai so far. And maybe this is what wishful thinking is all about.
Pawan Kalyan has signed many more projects and even there, he'll flex his muscles and turn his enemies to dust. And that's exactly what's going to happen in Venu Sriram's Vakeel Saab. Is the director looking to win the case by making the star fight for it outside the courtroom instead of making him employ punch dialogues in front of the judge? That's a new recipe for an action film!
