The first single of  Ajith's Valimai is out. Yuvan Shankar Raja goes back to the mass roots of 'Adadada Arrambame' from the star's earlier Arrambam and infuses a strain of rock to create a rousing track. It's probably Ajith's introduction song in the film. Lyrics by Vignesh Shivn are straight out of the Rajinikanth-Vairamuthu songbook from the 90s with motivational lines that suggest that positive thoughts assure success as long as you don't harm others. The song is sung by Yuvan and Anurag Kulkarni.

The broad sentiments of the song are an interesting contrast with 'Vathikuchi' from Dheena by the same Ajith-Yuvan combination twenty years back. The older song was individualistic with the hero asking everyone to back off so he could live by his own rules. 'Naanga Vera Maari' is more inclusive than that and asks people to live and let live. It's even more expansive and philosophical than 'Adadada Arrambame' which sits somewhere between Dheena and Valimai on the scale of positivity.

Ajith looks dapper in black and the visuals, again, remind you of the introduction song in Arrambam; Ajith is surrounded by various folk artists here. There is a hint that at least part of the film is set in Madurai as we're shown the Meenakshi Amman temple and other hints. We get glimpses of the shooting spot as the song is picturized, including Ajith congratulating dancers working with him.

Earlier, in response to an increasing demand for an update from fans, the makers released a motion poster. It was made up of stills from the film accompanied by a low-key but groovy background score. Ajith appears to be a police officer and bike racer (as the opening still of the motion poster suggests) in the film.

The motion poster also came with a motivational tagline "Power Is A State Of Mind."  Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects, the film is the star's second collaboration with the director after Nerkonda Parvai.

The cast of the film includes Huma Qureshi, Pearle Maaney, Yogi Babu and Kartikeya Gummakonda. Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Nirav Shah.
