A few weeks ago Abhishek Bachchan put up a photo of an empty make-up chair on his Instagram and captioned it – 'Possibly the scariest chair to sit on as of right now. It's taken over 2 yrs to get back onto it.' It was his first day on the set of Manmarziyan, his next film with Anurag Kashyap.

Speaking about his sabbatical from the movies, the actor says, "I didn't do any work for 2 years in terms of acting. I needed to reboot. I felt there was a sense of complacency that had crept into my work ethic. I was making more money than I had in my entire career but you have to ask yourself, is this what you want to be remembered for? I just need to go back to doing work that scares me."

Having said that, Bachchan says he wasn't on a "2-year holiday". He was busy running his football and kabaddi teams. "This break is the best thing I've done. But there won't be another long break. I've tasted blood again," he says.
