Actress Sai Pallavi has carved a distinct image for herself through the versatile roles that she has taken on in languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. But if there is one thing that the actress is most adored for is the grounded way with which she carries herself. For Sai Pallavi, who will next be seen in emotional courtroom drama Gargi, comfort is everything. The actress tells Ramya Subramanian in a free-wheeling chat that her mind isn't conneted to material things.

"I see comfort over everything. I can only talk for myself, but I like this sort of a simple lifestyle. I don't see the need to have a sudden change in lifestyle. I'm passionate about acting, and that is what I take back and that is treasure for me. The cheer of the audience is precious for me. So, if you are asking me in which way, I'm greedy and want more, it's in good characters and such love. Otherwise, I'm pretty content. I think I don't define myself, or my mind isn't connected to material things. I can't say if this is right or wrong but this is what works best for me. I can't do it any other way. But I also think it's okay for everybody to have a different way of living," she says.

The actress further opens up about her everyday routine, which begins at 4 in the morning. "I'd wake up, meditate and do yoga for a while. I don't go out much, I'm not a very social person. I read scripts; I'll watch something if I can. I read books that are more philosophical. Amma has written a lot of notes for me over time," she says, adding that she loves playing badminton and going to the beach in her free time.

"I really like going to the beach. It gives me the relaxation that meditation gives. It makes me feel very good. I don't know how to describe it but I look forward to that experience," Sai Pallavi says. While she is not too active on social media, she is guilty of spending a lot of time on Instagram, a habit that she is trying to change, the actress confesses.

"I have to confess I do use my phone a little extra lately. I don't post much since I only share what I think I should. But I do sometimes spend a lot of time on Instagram. I'm fascinated by the pictures I see, which I think is a bad thing because it plays a role psychologically in our minds. Now I'm trying to cut down on my screentime," she adds with a smile.
