Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Aadujeevitham has been in the making for more than ten years now and the magnum opus from Malayalam cinema is finally getting its theatrical release this year. The team shared the film’s official first-look poster which features a still of Prithviraj in a battered, gloomy, bearded look of a shepherd enslaved within the desert.
The film outlines the hardships and suffering of an immigrant worker Najeeb, trapped in a goat farm in a desert, as he finds it impossible to escape the hellscape from his captors. The big-budget survival drama shot across several locations in the Middle East is the dream project of director Blessy who has previously helmed classics like Kaazcha (2004) and Thanmatra (2005) in the past, among others.
The announcement for the poster came out with the movie’s tagline, “The greatest survival adventure ever, is a true story”, which perfectly captures the essence of the story based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Benyamin. The earlier leaked promo footage from the film and the poster assures a gritty tale about hope and the will to survive in the face of adversity. Aadujeevitham features Jimmy Jean-Louis, Amala Paul, Rik Aby and Talib al Balushi in important supporting roles. The film is an international co-production between India and the United States and is bankrolled jointly by Visual Romance Image Makers, Jet Media Production and Alta Global Media. AR Rahman is composing the music for the film, while Sunil KS cranks the camera. Aadujeevitham is set to be released on April 10 this year in five languages.
