After weeks of speculation, Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 has been given the ‘A’-Adults Only certification by the Central Board of Film Certification and passed without any cuts. The film directed by Amit Rai will now release in theatres on August 11 with a run time of 2 hours and 36 minutes.
A source close to the project said, “After all the discussions, the film has been passed without any cuts. There are some scenes, dialogues and characters which have been modified by the makers after discussion with the censor board members,”
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the makers agreed to an A certification to avoid any edits to the narrative. As per a source, “For U/A certificate, the committee had asked for a lot of cuts, which hampered the narrative of the film. The makers didn’t want to compromise with the sanctity of the film and hence they chose to go ahead with an adults-only certification. They have respected the modifications suggested by the board, and will go ahead with an A certificate providing an uncompromised story-telling experience to the audience”
The makers will drop the film’s trailer soon and an intensive marketing campaign will follow to build interest just in time for the film’s release. OMG 2 is directed by Amit Rai and is a spiritual sequel to OMG (2012)
