Ranbir Kapoor’s much anticipated film Animal hit the screens on December 1. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial is a story of son’s unending love and admiration for his father and family which intensifies to an extent creating conflicts between the father and son.
With a career spanning nearly two decades and 30 films, Animal has turned out to be the biggest film in Kapoor’s career. According to a report in Sacnilk.com, Animal’s worldwide opening day box office collection has approximately crossed Rs.100 crores with Rs. 61.00 Cr India net on its first day for all languages (early estimates). Hindi estimates: Rs. 50.50 Cr, Telugu estimates: Rs. 10.00 Cr. The overseas report is expected to be out soon.
Delivering 30 films in a 16 years long career, Animal is the only film in Kapoor’s that has opened to such a huge number. His last 5 releases, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar recorded Rs.15.73 crores, Brahmastra Part One Shiva earned Rs. 36 crores, Shamshera (2022) did Rs. 10.25 crores, Sanju (2018) Rs.34.75 crores, Jagga Jasoos (2017) Rs8.57 crores.
Animal has a runtime of more than three hours. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol in pivotal roles along with Shakti Kapoor, Triptii Dimri and Prem Chopra among others in supporting roles. Animal was earlier scheduled to release in August but was postponed to December.
