Black on OTT: Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji Starrer Makes it Digital Debut

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji in the lead which was released 19 years ago in 2005 has now made its digital debut and is available to stream on OTT platform.

Netflix shared the news on its Instagram handle and captioned it as, “It's been 19 years since Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black released, and today we're celebrating its first ever digital release on Netflix!Debraj and Michelle's journey has been an inspiration to all of us, and we hope it instills you with strength and compassion.”

Black is a story of an eccentric tutor played by Bachchan turns around the life of a young woman played byu Mukerji after she becomes prone to violent outbursts due to a childhood ailment that leaves her blind and deaf. Eventually her character Michelle bonds with Bachchan’s character Debraj, an alcoholic and teacher who later suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

Directed by Bhansali, the film also stars Shernaz Patel, Kenneth Desai among others. Meanwhile, Bhansali will soon make his streaming debut with Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, an eight episode series starring Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari among others.
