Darshana Rajendran is all set to collaborate with director Thamizh for her next film. The film is said to be based on a novel by reputed writer Perumal Murugan, who is known for the novels Poonachi, Maadhorupagan, Pookkuzhi, and more. The film is expected to be an adaptation of Pookkuzhi (Pyre), one of the most celebrated novel of Perumal Murugan.
Notedly, Thamizh had previously directed the social drama Seththumaan, which was based on a short story by Perumal Murugan. Darshana Rajendran spoke about her excitement about portraying a character written by Perumal Murugan and thanked the makers of the film for giving her the opportunity. The Hridayam star also released some BTS photos of the shoot, which sees her with writer Perumal Murugan, director Thamizh and actor Darshan of Kanaa (2018) and Cook Withu Comali fame.
The untitled film is backed by S Vinoth Kumar under the banner Cinemakaaran Productions. Bindhumaalini, who is known for composing music for Aruvi and the Kannada films 19.20.21 and Aachar & Co. will be providing music for the film along with Vedanth Bharadwaj. Deepak acts as the cinematographer.
