During the Streaming Adda 2023 hosted by Film Companion, actor Gagan Dev Riar who got to fame with his streaming series Scam 2003: The Telgi Story. Riar who headlined the show essaying the role of Abdul Karim Telgi in the series has expressed his disappointment on being offered gray characters after the scam story.
Speaking about the same Riar said, “In our industry it's a kind of norm or who is responsible for it, there is no one person but once u play a certain kind of character, I think it's a lack of imagination or lack of vision or I don’t know what it is they can’t see you beyond that.”
The actor also added, “The moment this (Scam 2003: The Telgi Story) got released the only things that I have been offered are person above 50 years old, father of some 20- 21 year old person and all negative character because Telgi falls into that category so those are the roles I have been offered and I’m like come on guys just go online and see I’m a 40 year old guy, younger than 50 atleast even if I’m not younger than that, most of the roles I’m offered right now fall into that category that’s why wear these hoodies and all so I try to look little younger so that they at me in a different way and offer me roles that suit my age.”
Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the 10-episode series is created by Hansal Mehta who earlier helmed the Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story and Scoop.
