After two immensely successful seasons, Hansal Mehta’s Scam series is all set to return with a third chapter. This time, the makers will explore yet another prominent financial scandal involving maverick businessman Subrata Roy, who was embroiled in numerous fraud accusations before his arrest in 2014. The season will be called Scam 2010, and will be based on the 2014 book Sahara: The Untold Story by journalist Tamal Bandyopadhyay.
The Scam series has previously delved into the lives of scammers Harshad Mehta and Abdul Karim Telgi. It is produced by Applause Entertainment, in association with Studio Next, and will be available to stream on SonyLIV.
Sameer Nair, Managing Director at Applause Entertainment, said: “The Scam series has become more than just a show; it's a pop cultural phenomenon. With Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga, we are poised to raise the bar even higher, offering audiences an immersive journey into the life and times of one of the most audacious and ambitious minds in Indian business history.”
Showrunner Mehta added, “Scam is not just a franchise for me. It is a chronicling of our times. I’m thrilled to collaborate again with Applause and Sony LIV to bring this larger-than-life story alive.”
