Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency gets a Release Date, watch video

Directed by Ranaut, the film also stars Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry and Milind Soman in pivotal roles

The release date of Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Emergency is out. Ranaut posted a video on her Instagram page announcing the release date of the film. The video starts with veteran actor Anupam Kher’s voice over who essays the role of political leader Jay Prakash Narayan in the film, the man who stood in the opposition against Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the mid 1970s.

The striking announcement video also marks 48 years since the Prime Minister had a state of emergency declared across the country. Sharing the video, Ranaut wrote, “A protector or a Dictator? Witness the darkest phase of our history when the leader of our nation declared a war on it’s people.”

Talking about Emergency, Ranaut shares, "Emergency is one of the most significant and darkest chapters in our history that young India needs to know. It is a crucial story and I want to thank my super-talented actors like late Satish ji, Anupam ji, Shreyas, Mahima, and Milind for embarking on this creative journey together. I am excited to bring this extraordinary episode from India’s history to the big screen. Jaihind!"

Manikarnika Films presents Emergency is directed and produced by Ranaut from a screenplay by Ritesh Shah and story by Ranaut. Emergency stars Ranaut as former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi. The film also features Kher, Satish Kaushik, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry and Milind Soman in pivotal roles. Emergency is scheduled to be released in theatres on 24th November.
