Mammootty has announced that his next film will be Bramayugam (2023) which is touted to be a horror film. The film will be directed by Rahul Sadasivan, who is known for directing Bhoothakaalam (2022). The film is said to be a story set in medieval Kerala history that unfolds through a fable.
The director took to his social media handles to share the first look poster and write, “I am elated to be directing the stalwart Mammookka. Bramayugam is a rooted story set in the dark ages of Kerala. I am glad to be backed by the producers who’re pushing the boundaries of making this into an immersive film experience. I hope it will be a treat to Mammookka’s fans and genre enthusiasts worldwide.”
The poster design shared by the team features an isolated bungalow framed against a whirlwind of ghost-like figures in the background, with a man bearing a lantern in hand positioned in the foreground.The film will consist of a star cast including Arjun Ashokan, Siddarth Bharathan and Amalda Liz in supporting roles alongside Mammootty.
Bramayugam is being produced jointly by Night Shift Studios and Y NOT Studios and is expected to be a pan india release. The cinematography will be handled by Shehnad Jalal whereas editing will be handled by Shafique Mohammed Ali. The film will have a musical score by Christo Xavier and dialogues written by famous author T D Ramakrishnan. Bramayugam will be eyeing a release towards the latter half of 2024.
