Prashanth Varma's HanuMan to release on Sankranthi

The fantasy film is said to be the first of a planned cinematic universe

The makers of fantasy superhero film HanuMan recently announced the release date of the film. The film will be released on January 12, 2024 coinciding with the festival of Sankranthi. The teaser of HanuMan was released earlier in November 2022 and gained unanimous appreciation for its visuals and VFX work. The magnum opus seems to have extensive visual effects work ahead of it and hence was pushed from its earlier release date in May 2023. The film will now be clashing with Mahesh Babu's Guntur Karam and Prabhas' Project K at the box office. 

HanuMan is the first installment in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, directed by Varma who is known for films such as Awe and Zombie Reddy. It stars Teja Saija, Vinay Rai, Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Raj Deepak Shetty. Backed by K Niranjan Reddy of Primeshow Entertainment, Smt Chaithanya presents the film. The technical crew includes Dasaradhi Sivendra and SB Raju Talari as the cinematographer and editor respectively. Gowrahari, Anudeep Dev and Krishna Saurabh provide the music for the film. The makers are set to release the film in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Marathi, English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese and Japanese.
