Puneeth Rajkumar’s Iconic Film Jackie to Re-release In Theatres

The cult classic was directed by Suri and was a blockbuster upon release

While the late Puneeth Rajkumar previously graced the screens in 2022’s documentary Gandhada Gudi, he will be seen on the big screen yet again in the re-release of Jackie. The cult classic will reportedly be released in cinemas again on March 15. KRG Studios, the production and distribution house behind films such as Pailwaan, Dia, and Daredevil Mustafa are reportedly handling the re-release along with PRK Studios.

Jackie was first released in 2010 and opened to extremely positive reviews and box office collections. The film was the first collaboration between Puneeth Rajkumar and director Suri, who had made his such as Duniya, Junglee, and Inthi Ninna Preethiya till then. The duo would go on to collaborate on two more films including Anna Bond and Doddmane Hudugi. The film was known for its iconic soundtrack album by V Harikrishna and lyricist Yograj Bhat. Songs such as ‘Shiva Antha Hogutidde’ and ‘Ekka Raja Rani’ were chart toppers. It was a trendsetter in Kannada cinema, giving Puneeth Rajkumar a great blockbuster in his filmography.

Jackie was written and directed by Suri and produced by Parvathamma Rajkumar under the Poornima Enterprises banner. The film also starred Bhavana Menon, Rangayana Raghu, Ravi Kale, and Harshika Poonacha in supporting roles. V Harikrishna handled the music while Yograj Bhat wrote the lyrics. Satya Hegde cranked the camera.
