In an interview with Indian Express, Salman Khan opened up about the failure of his previous films Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Antim: The Final Truth (2021). Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is directed by Farhad Samji which recorded a Rs. 182.44 crores globally while Antim was directed by Mahesh Manjrekar which earned Rs. 59. 11 crore gross at the global box office.

Talking about the box office performances of these films, Khan blamed the ticket pricing of these films and said, “When these films were released, people were not going to theatres. Moreover, we didn’t do blockbuster prices; we were going for popular prices. Our box office numbers were lower in those films but we focused on saving the audience’s money. How much did you watch Tiger 3 at? Rs 600, 1000?”

Khan said that the ticket prices of these two films were not more than 250. "Ek toh acha karo bhai. (Lets do one thing right) Humare number kam aa rahe hai, lekin audiences ka paisa bach raha hai. (Our money was coming less but atleast the audiences’ money was saved). We earned less, but we saved the audience money in that process. We did a good deed."

The actor also said that Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan would have made more money if it were released today. Khan’s recent release Tiger 3 directed by Maneesh Sharma received mixed reviews from audience and critics. The film raked Rs. 463 crores gross worldwide.
