Sanjay Leela Bhansali may redesign his Heeramandi sets for his next feature Baiju Bawra, reported Mid Day. The last schedule for Heeramandi is currently being shot and is expected to wrap up by August. A source said, “There are two massive song sequences left. Since both are integral to the plot, Sanjay sir is directing them, instead of having one of the co-directors at the helm. He has instructed his team that the show has to be wrapped up next month.”
Baiju Bawra is a film based on the famed singer who lived during the 16th and 17th centuries. The source adds, “An art team is on standby to kick off work on it by September. The Heeramandi set will be reimagined for Baiju Bawra. The film will roll by the year-end or early 2024.”
Baiju Bawra will reportedly star Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. While Heeramandi stars Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Manisha Koirala, and Aditi Rao Hydari in main roles.
