Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan has become the first Indian movie to get a theatrical release in Bangladesh in 50 years. Indian movies haven’t been released in the country since Bangladesh’s independence in 1971.

Pathaan was released in 41 theatres across the country and videos of fans grooving to Jhoome Jo Pathaan have been circulating on the internet. The film made 25 lakh Bangladeshi Takas (or INR 19.13 lakh) on its opening day, reported Bollywood Hungama

Satadeep Saha, an Indian-based distributor and exhibitor, who has released Pathaan in Bangladesh, said that the movie might be a bigger hit than Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania and Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan also stars Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, and Dimple Kapadia. It is streaming on Prime Video.
