The man at the helm of the highest-grossing Indian film, Dangal; the most-watched original film last year, Bawaal; and the co-director of critically acclaimed tennis-based docu-series Break Point, Nitesh Tiwari is at present building one of the most ambitious film series to come out of India — the Ramayana trilogy, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash. One of those who made the leap from IIT into cinema, his campus film Chhichhore, starring the late Sushant Singh Rajput, brought out both a playful sincerity and a relatable aspiration, trademarks of his craft.
