Amazon Prime Video released the trailer for Camila Cabello's iteration of children's classic Cinderella. The first half of the trailer is pretty familiar. Ella is the overworked, unloved protagonist who is mistreated by her stepmother (Idina Menzel) and stepsisters. Unlike the original, this Ella has a dream – to be a dressmaker and open her own boutique. She is ridiculed by the townspeople and her family alike. Billy Porter (Pose) plays her fairy godmother, saving the day. But after the Prince falls for her at the ball, she refuses to pick a royal life over her dream.
The trailer promises glamour and big musical numbers. The film has an impressive cast, with Pierce Brosnan, James Corden, Nicholas Galitzine, Missy Elliot, John Mulaney and many more supporting Camila's feature film debut. Produced by James Corden, Shannon McIntosh, Leo Pearlman, Jonathan Kadin and directed by Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect), Cinderella releases on Amazon Prime Video on September 3rd, 2021.
