Soubin Shahir is known for the variety of roles he has performed. In the mysterious trailer of Djinn, he plays a character that displays different personalities. In what looks like a psychological thriller, he is either possessed by ghosts or inner demons.
For instance, at a funeral, he is suddenly possessed by the dead man. But a few scenes suggest that he is sick and has a troubled mind. People are instructed to take care of him. Towards the end of the trailer, he also alters his outlook and even fails to recognize his older self. While we are confused whether he is taken over by spirits or everything is happening in his mind, there are also glimpses that suggest all of the makeovers could be a plan to loot money.
Though the trailer gives us many scenes, the plot remains ambiguous and we are left with several questions that build curiosity.
