After Etharkkum Thunindhavan's hyper-violent teaser, the film's team has decided to tone it down a bit when it comes to the trailer. Unlike the teaser that focussed only on the film's action blocks, the trailer is a combination of all the elements that make for a Pandiraj film. It even starts with an in-joke that compares Panidraj with director Bhagyaraj for their family-oriented films.
Even though the trailer shifts gears to mass masala mode soon, it does give glimpses of an entertainer with comedy, drama and romance (featuring Priyanka Mohan).
In the trailer, we get the idea that Suriya's Kanabiran wanted to become a scientist but decided to stay back in his village to take care of his family. Sathyaraj plays his father and Saranya, his mother. The change in mood is a result of the entry of the villain character played Vinay Rai. While Suriya wears a veshti (he even gets a punchline about it), Vinay, the suave urban character wears jackets and coats. But the film's central idea seems to be a result of the villain's misogynistic opinion on women ("they are the weaker sex").
The trailer ends with Suriya speaking about the importance of treating women the same, which means that the action movie will place this message at its heart.
