Vijay Antony's upcoming film Kolai is centered around a seemingly perfect crime. A prominent supermodel is murdered in a locked apartment, leaving the cops aghast. But there is really no such thing as a perfect murder, says Vijay Antony, the investigator of the case.
"Look for the flaw, recognise the passion, understand the motive and identify the killer," Antony points out, as he gradually puts together the bits and pieces to nab the killer. The sleek trailer shows glimpses of Antony solving the case with the help of Ritika Singh. The film also plays out like a stage play, making use of interesting lighting and production design that help produce the effect. "If you want to find out who killed me and why, you need to first find out who I am," Laila's voiceover plays in the background as the screen depicts her apartment in disarry.
Directed by Balaji K Kumari of Vidiyum Munn (2013) fame, the film also co-stars Meenakshi Chaudhary, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Murli Sharma, Siddhartha Shankar, Kishore Kumar, John Vijay, Arjun Chidambaram and Samkit Bohra. The film has music by Girishh Gopalakrishnan and camerawork by Sivakumar Vijayan. The bilingual film will be released in Telugu as Hatya.
