Sadak 2 begins a few decades after Sadak ended. Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur are the young lovers who use Ravi's (Sanjay Dutt) cab service to go to "Kailash". Pooja Bhatt who played his lover in the previous film is a larger-than-life sized monochrome portrait here; she's deceased.
Alia's character takes the odyssey to Kailash to take revenge on a Godman played by Makarand Deshpande. He is shown as the eye of an Eyes Wide Shut-like cult-storm. Dutt, as her driver, and father-like figure gets implicated. At one point we see her room, decorated in Che Guevara frames spray painted in red, "Zindaa Jalaa Dengae." Arson and agony will frame this tale tethered to the street. ("Upar wala humare saath hain, iss sadak par!")
The film is helmed by Mahesh Bhatt who is returning to direct a film after a two decade hiatus. His last was Kartoos in 1999. Music being a huge part of Bhatt's universe, this film boasts a multi-composer album with music by Jeet Gannguli, Ankit Tiwari,Samidh Mukherjee & Urvi, and Suniljeet.
