After a brief delay, the trailer for The Zoya Factor has finally released. At first glance, the film looks quite faithful to its origins – the 2008 best-selling book of the same name by author Anuja Chauhan.

Sonam Kapoor plays Zoya Solanki, an advertising professional, who is sent to shoot an ad with the Indian cricket team. Her ties with cricket go further back – Zoya was born at the same time the Indian cricket team won the World Cup in 1983. The current cricket team is down on their luck and a series of events leads them to believe that Zoya is their lucky charm. There's also a love story here – Zoya falls in love with the captain of the team Nikhil Khoda, played by Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan. This is Dulquer's second foray into Hindi cinema after Karwaan. If he was a bespectacled, timid guy dealing with the loss of his father in Karwaan, he's quite the opposite here. Don't miss the slow motion shot of him taking off his shirt.

Like Khoobsurat, Sonam Kapoor's 2014 love story with Fawad Khan, this too looks like a fun, highly stylised love story between two very attractive people.

The film has been directed by Abhishek Sharma who last made Parmanu starring John Abraham.  The Zoya Factor releases on September 20.
