Ryan Gosling accepted the role of Ken after seeing his daughter’s Ken doll lying face down in the mud, next to a squashed lemon. He then took an image of the doll, sent it to Gerwig and said, "I shall be your Ken, his story must be told."
Margot Robbie allegedly requested Gerwig to let her have a slide in Barbie's house that would go from the bedroom to the swimming pool.
