Under Sanjay Leela Bhansali, a director known to extract inspiring performances out his actors, Khan capitalises on his easy lover boy charm. Here too Khan is as muscular as ever but his gently playful chemistry with Manisha Koirala is proof that he can turn the language of his physique from menacing to goofy in no time.
Working with Bhansali once again, Khan delivers one of the most heartbreaking performances of his career as Sameer.

That Salman Khan can play a wrestling champion is a surprise to nobody. That he can play a character who derives the strength for his sport from his love story was a pleasantly surprising (and convincing) twist.
Although this film is a hot mess of violence and intimidation, and promotes a blatant disregard for consent, Khan delivers a memorable performance as a goon who knows no other way of communicating his love than violence.
