Bollywood doesn't have a terrific record of making horror films. It often oscillates between being cheesy and unintentionally funny. But last year, director and co-writer of Phobia, Pavan Kirpalani gave us a smart and spooky thriller that kept us invested till the very end.

Phobia is a story about a talented artist Mehak, who suffers from agoraphobia post a traumatic incident in her life. Her friend Shaan, decides to help her overcome this phobia by making her stay alone at a friend's house, away from family and friends. But strange neighbours and tales about the flat's earlier occupant Jiah start terrifying Mahek.

Radhika Apte who plays Mahek powers the film with a fantastic performance. She's ably supported by Satyadeep Mishra and Yashaswani Dayama.

According to reports, Pavan who co-wrote the screenplay with Arun Sukumar, is currently working on a sequel.
