Article 15 is a searing look at caste in India through the lens of a taut thriller. When two of three missing Dalit girls are found hanging from a tree in the fictional village of Laalgaon, Uttar Pradesh, IPS officer Ayan Ranjan (Ayushmann Khurrana) must launch a desperate search for the third while navigating the intricacies of small-town caste politics, his morally dubious fellow policemen and his own fraying relationships. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film features terrific performances from Khurrana, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra and Sayoni Gupta and haunting visuals by cinematographer Ewan Mulligan.
