Mulk is the story of a Muslim family in Varanasi that is put through a gruelling court procedure when a young member of their home turns out to be a terrorist. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film culminates into a powerful court room scene that poses some difficult questions – are all terrorists Muslims? How does one prove their love for the country? These issues are deftly handled by Sinha who has also written the movie along with Mustafa Neemuchwala.
In an interview to Film Companion earlier this year, Sinha, who has previously directed the Tum Bin movies and Ra. One, said, "I think this is the most honest film I've made. A lot of my other films were customised for box office."
Mulk also draws a lot of its strength from its talented ensemble cast comprising Rishi Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Manoj Pahwa, Neena Gupta and Kumud Mishra. You can download the script of Mulk here:
