FC Disruptors: Prem Rakshith

To describe “Naatu Naatu” as a global sensation is an understatement, especially now that the song has got an Oscar nomination. Prem Rakshith’s choreography took the idea of a dance-off and lifted it to epic proportions. In the film, the song takes place after N.T. Rama Rao Jr.’s Komaram Bheem is humiliated by Britishers at a party. Ram Charan comes to his defence and the two of them dance up a storm to defend Indian culture. Rakshith’s complicated moves draw upon a range of styles that went on to inspire dance challenges on social media platforms like Tik Tok and Instagram. We can’t wait to see “Naatu Naatu” being performed on the Oscar stage next year.
