He was one of the three cinematographers responsible for the breathtaking imagery of Shaunak Sen’s award-winning documentary, and it’s the third time in the recent past that Saumyananda Sahi had filmed Delhi as a city of strange poetry. Sahi was also the cinematographer for the celebrated Eeb Allay Oo (2019) and Ghode Ko Jalebi Khilane Le Ja Riya Hoon (2019), both of which tapped into the surrealism lurking in the capital city. This year, Sahi was also selected as a Breakthrough India participant — the only cinematographer on the list — announced by the British Academy Film and Television Award (BAFTA).
