PS2 is a more emotionally stirring film than its predecessor, and AR Rahman's music reflects this. Whether it is Shakthisree Gopalan's honeyed vocals in 'Aga Naga' or the combined power of Rahman, Shankar Mahadevan and KS Chitra in 'Veera Raja Veera', PS2's music is as evocative as the film. Haricharan's 'Chinnanjiru Nilave' conveys the vicissitudes of a torrid affair that lasted decades. The music of PS2 is a moving soundscape of some of Rahman's brilliance, and proves that masters never go out of form - they're simply waiting for the right film. And Mani Ratnam's PS2 gives AR Rahman just the right film to work his magic.
