The trailer of Shrunga BV’s Chilli Chicken is out (Kannada)

The upcoming comedy Chilli Chicken has finally released its first official trailer. Set in Bengaluru, the trailer tells the story of a local working at a Chinese restaurant that has North-East Indian employees. The film follows the various struggles the employees face in the city. The film stars Shrunga BV, Bijou Thaangjam, Jimpa Sangpo Bhutia, Harini Sundararajan, Victor Thoudam Nityashree, and more. Chilli Chicken is directed by debutant Pratheek Prajosh and is backed by Deep Bhimajiyani and Sudha Nambiar’s Metanoia Studios. Siddhanth Sunder handles the music.

Darshan arrested on a murder charge (Kannada)

Actor Darshan has reportedly been arrested by the police in connection with a murder case that has gripped the state. The actor was reportedly detained to question about the killing of Renukaswamy, a young man from Chitradurga who was found dead in the city. The case is still ongoing. Darshan was set to star in Devil: The Hero and in two more projects.

Jr. NTR’s Devara gets a new release date (Telugu)

Jr. NTR’s upcoming film Devara: Part 1 has been preponed to a new release date. While the film was supposed to be released on October 10, the makers have now announced that it will open to cinemas on September 27. The pan-Indian action film also stars Jahnvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles.

Devata: Part 1 is written and directed by Koratala Siva and is backed by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Sudhakar Mikkileni, and Kosaraju Harikrishna under the Yuvasudha Arts banner. Anirudh Ravichander handles the music while R Ratnavelu handles the camera.

Kalki 2898 AD gets a trailer (Telugu)

Nag Ashwin’s much-awaited sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD will be released on June 27. The makers of the film have now released the trailer of the Prabhas starrer. The trailer opens with a post-apocalyptic India hundreds of years in the future. While the citizens deal with drought and hunger, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone’s characters seem to have the key: a newborn baby. A bounty hunter named Bhairava (played by Prabhas) is tasked by the antagonist to bring her back.

Kalki 2898 AD is written and directed by Nag Ashwin and is backed by Aswani Dutt under the Vyjayanthi Films banner. Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, Pasupathy, and more feature in the film. Santosh Narayanan handles the music while Djordje Stojiljkovic handles the camera.

Nani’s Saripoda Sanivaram will get its first single on this date (Telugu)

Actor Nani will be seen next in Vivek Athreya’s Saripoda Sanivaram. The makers have now announced that the first single from the film will be released on June 15. Titled ‘Garam Garam’, the song is composed by Jakes Bejoy. The film is all set to release on August 29. SJ Suryah and Priyanka Arul Mohan also star in the film.

Ravi Teja’s RT75 launched (Telugu)

Actor Ravi Teja is all set to star in his 75th film along with actress Sreeleela. RT75 was launched recently with a puja ceremony. The film is set to be directed by debutant Bhanu Bogvarapu and is backed by Sithara Entertainment and Fortune Four Cinemas. Music director Bheem Ceciroleo will be handling the music while Vidhu Ayyana will be handling the camera. The makers are reportedly aiming for a Sankranthi 2025 release.

Dhanush’s Raayan gets a new release date (Tamil)

Dhanush’s sophomore directorial Raayan was supposed to be released this week. However, the makers have now pushed the release date to July 26 of this year. The film has an ensemble star cast of Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, SJ Suryah, and more.

Raayan is written and directed by Dhanush and is backed by Kalanithi Maaran under the Sun Pictures banner. AR Rahman scores the music while Om Prakash handles the cinematography. It is also Dhanush’s 50th film as an actor.

Vidyut Jamwal reunites with AR Murugadoss (Tamil)

The makers of Sivakarhikeyan and AR Murugadoss’ next film recently announced that Vidyut Jamwal will be playing a key role in the film. Currently titled SKxARM, the announcement came with a video showing Jamwal on the sets of the film. It marks the second collaboration between the actor and Murugadoss after Thuppaki.

SKxARM is written and directed by AR Murugadoss and is backed by Prasad NV. The film also stars Rukmini Vasanth in the lead role. Anirudh Ravichander handles the music while Sudeep Elamon handles the cinematography.

Mohanlal’s Manichithratazhu gets a re-release (Malayalam)

Mohanlal’s iconic thriller Manichithrathazhu is all set to re-release in theaters after thirty years. The film was the basis for several remakes, including Chandramukhi in Tamil, Apthamithra in Kannada, and Bhool Bhulaiya in Hindi. The film was directed by Faazil and also features Shobhana and Suresh Gopi in lead roles along with Mohanlal.

Dhyan Srinivasan’s Partners gets a release date (Malayalam)

The makers of Dhyan Srinivasan’s Partners announced that the film would be released on June 28. The ensemble comedy recently received its first look which sees the actor along with the rest of the cast standing in front of a cooperative bank in Kasargod. The film is directed by Naveen John and is written by Hariprasad and Prashanth KV. It also stars Kalabhavan Shajohn, Prashanth Alexander, and Sanju Sivram among others.

Amal Neerad announces his next Bougainvillea with Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban (Malayalam)

After the success of Bheeshma Parvam, director Amal Neerad is all set to return to the director’s chair with Bougainvillea. It stars Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, Sharafudhin, Veena Nandakumar, Shrinda, and Jyothirmayi. The film is backed by Jyothirmayi and Kunchacko Boban under Amal Neerad Films and Udaya Pictures respectively. Anend C Chandran handles the cinematography while Sushin Shyam handles the music. The film is written by Lajo Jose and Amal Neerad.
