The trailer of Hansika Motwani's 'Gandhari' is out (Tamil)

The trailer of Hansika Motwani's upcoming Tamil horror film was released recently. Directed by R Kannan, the movie revolves around a haunted house, wherein Hansika's character seems to be entrapped in terrifying situations. The film also co-stars Brigida Saga and Metro Shirish.

Karthi's 'Sardar 2' gets launched (Tamil)

The sequel of Karthi and PS Mithran's Sardar has been launched. The film's pooja was recently celebrated and the makers will begin shooting from July 15 onwards. The spy-thriller, which saw the actor in a double action, co-starred Raashii Khanna, Rajisha Vijayan and Laila. The sequel, which is produced by Prince Pictures, will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Arjun Das and Aditi Shankar come together for a new film (Tamil)

Tamil actors Arjun Das and Aditi Shankar will soon be seen in a film, marking their first on-screen collaboration. Directed by debutant Vignesh Srikanth, the film was recently launched.

Shiva Rajkumar joins Ram Charan's 'RC 16' (Telugu)

Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar has joined the star cast of Ram Charan's next film with director Buchibabu Sana. Tentatively titled 'RC 16', the film also co-stars Janhvi Kapoor and has music by AR Rahman.

'Aattam' wins the FIPRESCI-India Grand Prix award (Malayalam)

Acclaimed Malayalam film Aattam recently won the India Grand Prix for the best 2023 Indian film. The Indian Chapter of Fédération Internationale de la Presse Cinématographique announced the award recently. Anand Ekarshi's powerful film on sexual assault co-stars Zarin Shihab, and Vinay Forrt among others.

Mammootty and Gautham Vasudev Menon join hands for a new film (Malayalam)

Gautham Vasudev Menon is all set to make his directorial debut in Malayalam. A crime thriller, the film stars Mammootty in the lead role. The makers kickstarted the production with a pooja ceremony on Wednesday. Backed by Mammootty Kampany, the film co-stars Gokul Suresh, Lena, Siddique and others.

Nayanthara returns as Mookuthi Amman, sequel on cards (Tamil)

Directed by RJ Balaji, the 2020 drama Mookuthi Amman starred Nayanthara as a goddess. The film’s producers, Vels Film International, have now announced that a sequel is in the works. The original also featured RJ Balaji, Urvashi and Smurthi Venkat, among others. The sequel announcement only confirms Nayanthara’s return, with the rest of the cast yet to be announced.

Trisha to make her OTT debut; Brinda gets a teaser (Tamil)

Trisha, who was last seen in Leo, is busy with several projects including Ajith’s Vidaamuyarchi and Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara. Amidst the big films, the actress is also making her web series debut with a thriller-drama, Brinda. The makers of the SonyLIV series recently unveiled the teaser and it co-stars Indrajith Sukumaran, Jaya Prakash, Ravindra Vijay and others. The series will be available to stream from August 2.

Vijay Antony’s Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan to be out on August 2 (Tamil)

Vijay Antony’s Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan, titled Toofan in Telugu, is scheduled to hit the screens on August 2. Directed by Vijay Milton, the film also stars Megha Akash, Murali Sharma, Pruthvi Ambaar and Saranya Ponvannan.

Alphonse Puthren to make a cameo in Arun Vaiga’s film (Malayalam)

Arun Vaiga is working on his next film with Ranjith Sajeev of Golam fame. The yet-to-be-titled film is currently under production and the makers recently revealed that Alphonse Puthren will make a cameo appearance. The film also stars Johny Antony, Indrans, Manju Pillai and others. Puthren last played a cameo in his own film, Premam.
